Cubs 'solid' background check, idiots

by Uncle George

I know I said I was done with my rants regarding the Cubs and their 7th inning stretch bullshit.

But I have to add to my outrage by something my brother informed me of earlier today.  (Editors Note* Uncle George's father served in the US Navy for World War II, and two of his brother's served in the US Navy, while another served in the US Army.)

On Memorial Day, when the Cubs had the opportunity to choose a real Cub fan and a real HERO they chose 'legendary' actor Brian Dennehy, who just so happens to be one those guys who has been exposed as someone who greatly enhanced his service record.

Dennehy served in the US Marine Corps from 1959-63.  Allegedly he said in multiple interviews that he spent five years fighting in Vietnam.  It was later revealed in a 1998 book - 'Stolen Valor' by B.G. Burkett that Dennehy never served overseas.  He later apologized.

Military veterans don't take kindly to military frauds and neither do I.

Nice job Cub-brainpower.  On Memorial Day for gosh sakes!!
